Welcome to the website of the Southern Group of Motoring Writers, the regional group for motoring journalists living or working in basically the region around the M25 motorway, stretching from Suffolk in the north to Portsmouth and Brighton in the south and from Reading and Oxford in the west to Kent in the east. As our founding Chairman explains on the introduction page the formation of the Southern Group plugs the one remaining hole in the UK-wide map of regional motoring organisations. Our membership numbers more than 30 journalists working on a wide range of titles, from newspapers to magazines, books, online and television.

The Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA) helps communicators within the motor industry work more effectively by providing training, workshops, events and opportunities for networking.

MIPAA Limited was incorporated as a non-profit company, limited by guarantee, on 4 November 2005. It builds on the foundations of an organisation created in 1968 by 13 original members. The 460-strong membership represents individuals and consultancy groups, as well as manufacturers, importers and other institutions connected with the industry, in the UK and overseas.

The Guild of Motoring Writers is recognised as the professional body for motoring journalists and its views carry a great deal of weight within the motor industry. There is much co-operation between Guild members and motor industry press offices, particularly through MIPAA, the Motor Industry Public Affairs Association. The Guild publishes an annual yearbook "Who's Who in the Motor Industry" which is regarded as essential by all those professionally involved in motoring.

NGMW The Northern Group was formed more than a quarter of a century ago, with the aim of improving facilities for motoring journalists in the region.

An important part of this is the Group's fund-raising efforts, which the motor industry so generously supports. In recent years they have resulted in substantial donations to charities such as the Linda McCartney Cancer Fund in Liverpool and Sheffield's Weston Park Hospital to buy auxiliary equipment for its scanner appeal, and the Scarborough Lifeboat.

Welsh Motoring Writers is a group of professional writers and journalists with strong Welsh links.

There are 13 members in the group who either live within the Principality or contribute to newspaper columns, magazine articles and radio and television programmes for Welsh readers and audiences, all sharing a passion for motoring.

The "Western Group" is composed of professional writers working in the West Country and South Wales who contribute to an enormous variety of local, national and international newspapers, magazines, specialist publications and websites.
We provide a comprehensive view and enormous source of knowledge on all motoring matters, from road-tests to news, features and supplements.
