The Phil Llewellin Award

A ride in an Aston Martin and £1,000 to spend on a holiday are on offer to someone aged 16 or under for writing a short story.

And the winner’s mum or dad will have the pick of the current Audi car range, free for a week.

The Phil Llewellin Award is aimed at budding motoring writers, aged up to 16. To enter, you should write a story of about 500 words on ‘my perfect car and the journey I'd take in it.'

Then email your story to brian_vertigen@onetel.co.uk. Closing date is December 31, 2009. Please include your full name, date of birth and home address.

A trophy and the prize package will be presented to the winner in the New Year.

The first winner of the competition enjoyed a family holiday in Italy, paid for by the £1,000 of travel vouchers he won in the competition.  His mum loved her week in the new Audi TT and the winner is still talking about his trip to Aston Martin’s HQ and a ride in one of the company’s fantastic cars with a test driver at the wheel.

Our second winner wrote to say: ""I recently returned from a holiday in Peurto Pollensa in Majorca with my Mum and Dad and we had a really great time, lots of nice weather, sun bathing, swimming and snorkelling and visiting interesting places in the North of Majorca.

In July I visited Rome, Pompei, Sorento and the Amalfi coast in Italy. This was a cultural visit with my sixth form friends and again I had a lovely time.

Earlier in the summer, along with my parents and boyfriend we planned a holiday in Dorset near Swanage where my Dad made use of the Audi A5 Cabriolet 3 litre. This car was fabulous and we all really enjoyed touring around the South with the roof down. The car was a real head turner and we were very lucky to have had one of the best weeks of the summer for weather."
